MATERIALS TESTING

Joining Technologies maintains an integral metallurgical laboratory for instant weld evaluation and material analysis. To evaluate and help develop the joining process our lab conducts on-site cross-sectioning and microhardness testing. Additionally, our positive material identification process offers a simple inspection of incoming parts, supply-chain product, as well as verification of filler material and dilution of finished welds. We perform comprehensive pre- and post-weld destructive and non-destructive testing for application specific requirements. In conjunction to our metallurgical testing lab, we offer pressure testing, mass spectrometer leak testing, mechanical, electrical and third party special application testing – including Finite Analysis, X-ray, FPI, and Ultrasonic.
RMI PROGRAM
Our Reliable Material Identification (RMI) program brings the reliability of a metallurgical laboratory to the shop floor, providing a simple, worry free solution to ensure finished welds, control lot traceability and validate filler material and dilution. Utilizing a non-destructive, portable x-ray fluorescence (XRF) unit, elemental analysis is compared to commonly used material grades stored in a reference library. The XRF unit is the ideal instrument for light element detection including magnesium, aluminum, sulfur, silicon and phosphorus, serving as a trusted pass/fail test method without time-consuming and expensive verification.
IN-HOUSE MICROHARDNESS TESTING

Examining materials for correct processing is a critical step when determining product reliability. We have recently added micro-hardness testing to our extensive list of in-house testing capabilities.
